Georgia Pre-K Registration Information
Oconee Preschool Academy has 4 Georgia Pre-K classes. There are two classes located at each of our Watkinsville locations. Registration for currently enrolled OPA students takes place in January each year, following with public registration in February.
We welcome children of all abilities to our programs. OPA is excited to partner with the Oconee County School System to offer an Inclusive Pre-K Classroom at our Mars Hill location. With a reduced class size and support staff, children with a current Individualized Education Plan (IEP) are given priority registration based on available spots. A priority registration for siblings of OPA families (former and current) as well as OCSS employees takes place prior to public registration. Registration will take place for these limited spots from 1/31/2022 – 2/2/2022 during our normal business hours. Please contact Nikki Wright at email@example.com for more information. *Once the limited spots are filled then you may participate in the public registration.
Registration for the public will take place on the following date:
February 5 – OPA 1 (Mars Hill Road) 8:00am – 9:00am
February 5 – OPA 2 (Greensboro Hwy) 11:00am – 12:00pm
Registration will begin at posted time and will be on a first come, first serve basis. Based on previous years, individuals do arrive early to reserve a space in line. The following documents will be needed to register. Registration is not considered complete unless we have these documents on the day of registration:
- Birth Certificate – this must be a copy of the birth certificate that we can keep. Due to copyright issues we may not make copies so please make sure you have a copy that can stay with us.
- Proof of Georgia Residency – this must be a utility bill such as water or electric, lease agreement or mortgage statement. Cell phone, medical or other types of bills are not accepted.
- Social Security Card- must provide a copy.
Please note the following important information: We will not know the exact number of openings until early February once in house and priority registration is completed. We will release the number of available anticipated spots prior to the public registration date.
Since registration takes place early in the year, there are usually changes to our roster that allow us to begin pulling from the wait list. As these changes occur, we immediately notify individuals on the wait list. You will have 24 hours from the time we contact you to notify us of acceptance of the available space.
