Welcome to Oconee Preschool Academy

OPA provides a safe, nurturing environment that promotes social, emotional, cognitive and physical development of young children.

Cognitive Development

Children use their mind to explore and investigate the world around them. Problem solving skills and reasoning form the basis for early mathematical and scientific thinking.

Physical Development

Large Muscles – crawling, walking, running, and dancing are all activities that take place in the indoor and outdoor environment. Small muscle development occurs using our hands and fingers to feed ourselves, color, paint and sing songs.

Language and Literacy Development

Beginning with sounds, gestures, words and eventually reading and writing, children will learn how to communicate with others.

Emotional and Social Development

Children learn how to express themselves, gain self-control and how to relate to others. They develop special relationships with their peers and caregivers.

Quality Rated

In February 2020, OPA 1 was awarded a 3 Star Quality Rating. Due to Covid-19, OPA 2’s QR visit was delayed. Quality Rated is set to resume visits in January 2021 and OPA 2 will be at the beginning of the list for visits. OPA is committed to providing high quality care not only through the QR process but in our everyday approach to learning and care for children.

Administrative Staff
